Vietnam 8th Air Force Wolfpack Pilot Joe “Flash” Furman Uniform Collection
Here’s a very unique collection from a pilot that had served many years throughout the Air Force, Coast guard auxiliary, and the civil Air patrol. Joe ‘flash’ Furman is one of the unsung heroes of our country.
Granted I don’t know all the details of his service I had put in for some research to the national archives but I have not heard back yet. From a St cloud times newspaper dated September 17th 1989 of an interview of Joe furman, they go over the highlights of Joseph furman’s career calling him a superhero he received the life-saving medal the rescue fine metal silver Star bronze medal of valor and many other medals as you can see on the uniform. Feel Freeman’s career starts back as a naval cadet board of destroyer in Korea where he moved on to be a fighter pilot in about 200 missions in Vietnam from 1968 to 1970. Joe has volunteered and served in the Coast guard auxiliary as a C-130 pilot and in the Minnesota civil Air patrol as a C-130 pilot and I think I cannot prove this as a helicopter pilot. His words are too numerous to list but please look the pictures over carefully. Joseph Furman passed away in late December 2023.
Collection includes Air Force dress uniform, pilots helmet, pilots bag, custom leather jacket with the Wolfpack on the back, laminated St cloud times article from September 17th 1989, all medals you see in the pictures are included.
