US NAVY SPECIALIST MARK – APPRENTICE PETTY OFFICER STOREKEEPER

Navy Storekeepers manage inventories of repair parts and general supplies that support ships, squadrons, and shore-based activities. They do what their job title suggests: Keep track of supplies in Navy stores.

Storekeeper All Grades:

Yeoman – Chief from1893-1916

               1st Class from 1885-1893

               Captain of the Hold 1885-1893

This mark was originally designated for Yeoman who served a function which was bacislly that of a storekeeper. When the mark assigned the title storekeeper in 1916, the mark was used for Yeoman st, 2nd, and 3rd class, and formerly used ship’s writer was also assigned for chief Yeoman.
