34TH INF BRIGADE UNIT CREST – ATTACK, ATTACK, ATTACK
Celebrate the storied legacy of the 34th Infantry Division with this meticulously crafted unit crest. Known for its rich history and significant contributions, the 34th Infantry Division, also known as the “Red Bulls,” is a proud part of the United States Army National Guard.
The 34th Infantry Division was established on July 18, 1917, drawing from National Guard units across Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, and South Dakota. During World War I, the division trained at Camp Cody, New Mexico, and although it arrived in France in October 1918, it did not see combat before being disbanded in February 1919. The division’s insignia, designed by Marvin Cone, features a red steer skull over a black Mexican water jug, known as an “olla,” symbolizing the division’s desert training environment. Initially called the “Sandstorm Division,” it later earned the nickname “Red Bulls.”
This unit crest is an ideal addition to any collection of Army unit crests, medals, and ribbons, offering a tangible connection to the valor and history of the 34th Infantry Division.
