The Norrland Artillery Regiment (Swedish: Norrlands artilleriregemente), designation A 4, was a Swedish Army artillery regiment that traced its origins back to the 19th century. The regiment’s soldiers were originally recruited from the provinces of Norrland. The regiment was disbanded in 1997. From 1998 to 2000, the Boden Artillery Regiment was known by this name.Original Swedish Army field jacket introduced at the height of the Cold War. Durable, practical, and designed for long-term conscript service in Scandinavian conditions.
Issued to conscripts and reservists, the M59 was designed to be robust, easily repairable, and suitable for layered wear in cold and wet environments. The jacket remained in service for decades, gradually phased out only when newer modular systems were introduced. Its longevity reflects both conservative Swedish procurement policy (Interesting offtop btw) and the effectiveness of the design.
