ORIGINAL WWII German 1939 manufactured Luftschutz three-piece gladiator helmet. Size 56

This is an original WWII German 1939 manufactured Luftschutz three-piece gladiator helmet. The RL2-40/2 stamping on the interior brim denotes production by the Bath & Wagara, Dresden factory. Interestingly, members of the Luftschutz were required to purchase their own helmets upon joining the organization and “Höchstpreis Rm 8-” means members were not to be charged more than 8 Reichsmarks per helmet. Size 56, “Vertrieb genehmigt gema 8 Luftshutzgeset kopfweite: 56.”  It retains its original factory blue paint and decal. The steel shell exhibits dents, with minor surface rust throughout. The interior’s original leather components show wear. Missing paint on the back of helmet.
